For Churches

Your church has a worship voice. Let us help you find the musicians to express it.

Your worship voice is yours

Every church has its own personality defined by its people, location, and traditions. The music should reflect that. We help you find musicians who can express your church's voice with you, and maybe take it further than you thought possible.

We currently have 48 musicians on our list in the Portland and Vancouver area. Each one knows that church music is different from a gig. They show up prepared. They serve the song, the team, and the room.

Saturday night should not mean panic

The set is planned. Charts are ready. Then your drummer texts that they woke up sick, or your keys player's kid has a fever, or your acoustic guitarist got called into work. You are now working the phones instead of resting for Sunday.

Last-minute cancellations are part of church life. They do not have to leave you scrambling. Having a network of trusted musicians ready to step in means one text can solve the problem instead of starting it.

When churches reach out to us

Last-minute cancellations

Your drummer is sick. Your keys player is out of town. We find someone with the skill, the availability, and the right fit before Sunday morning. No frantic phone tree. No awkward call to the same person who already played three services this month.

Special services

Maybe it is an upright bass player for a jazzy Christmas tune, or a trumpeter who can hit the high notes on Easter. If you have a vision for something you do not have readily available from your congregation, we are here for those moments.

Giving your team a week off

Your volunteers are faithful. They deserve rest built into the schedule. Sunday Musician makes it possible to give your people a breath without canceling the music. Planned time off is not a luxury, it is part of a healthy ministry.

That fifth Sunday

Have a guest team fill in on the extra weekends. It keeps the rotation consistent without stretching your regular volunteers thin. A predictable break built into the calendar is better than waiting for burnout to force one.

A fresh perspective

A new voice in the room can open something up. Sometimes that is exactly what a congregation needs. A guest musician brings new ears, new instincts, and can help your team hear what they have been playing in a new way.

Browse, request, communicate, pay

Messaging within the app

Every step of the process lives inside the app. Browse musicians by instrument and availability. Post a request with your date, location, and details. Communicate with potential matches through the built-in messaging. And when you book, payment is handled automatically the day of the service. No cash, no checks, no awkward follow-ups.

A $5 service fee covers payment processing and matching. That is it. No subscription. No hidden costs.

Live musicians serve the room

Backing tracks are accessible and easy. But when a church leans too hard on pre-packaged arrangements, Sunday morning starts to sound like someone else's worship voice. Live musicians can respond to the room. Extend a moment. Soften when the room needs quiet. Build when something is happening. That is the reason you gather a team at all, not an extra feature.

We wrote more about this in Live Musicians vs Backing Tracks.

This is for your team, too

The people who serve week after week are one of the most generous expressions of community your church has. A relationship with Sunday Musician means you can give a volunteer a Sunday off without guilt. It means when someone's kid has a tournament or a parent is in the hospital, they do not have to choose.

That is not outsourcing your worship. That is pastoring your people.
