Logo, Socials and Hitting our goal

This week Sunday Musician rolled out our first logo, made our first Instagram post, and hit our goal of doubling from 15 to 30 local musicians. We’re at 33 as I’m writing this! We started by inviting our friends, and it’s exciting to start seeing names we don’t recognize.

We started Sunday Musician with a desire to see amazing talent valued in churches and the music in local churches be deeply meaningful to those who experience it. As we have thought about what Sunday Musician can become we have called back to a time in history when the church set the standard for musical excellence. The church was also largely responsible for funding the arts and supporting the artists who created music, sculpture, and paintings that are now considered classics. The logo attempts to capture that with the monogram SM pressed into a gothic arch.

A goal was set to reach 100 musicians by December 1st. To accomplish this, personal outreach is needed—specifically texting talented people who would be a good fit. If each supporter invites 2-3 people this week, the target could be reached. Having 100 local musicians will provide a strong foundation to build a list of churches seeking musicians, ultimately connecting talented musicians with congregations in need of them.

A counter on the home page tracks the current number of musicians, allowing visitors to monitor progress toward this milestone.
