About us
Helping churches and musicians thrive in the Portland / Vancouver area.
We love the church, and what music brings to it
For the past few decades, we've been serving local churches in the Portland area to bring people together to focus on Jesus, and using the power of music to do so. We know the joys and challenges of working in a church. Integrating musicianship with discipleship, and balancing what's next with what was without losing sight of Who Is.
We've watched the church and our culture leave musicians behind. Servants with many years and dollars invested into their craft sit in the shadow of the worship rockstar, are replaced by a track, or have their skill level judged against the latest sound coming out of a church on the other side of the planet.
Your unique worship voice
Every church has a unique worship voice. Do you know what yours is? Does your team know what it is? Some churches value a high level of production and polish. Some people respond in those environments and expect the highest quality week in and week out. God deserves our very best, and when high production is done to bring glory to the Highest being in the universe, worship can happen in powerful ways. Other congregations would not respond well to that, though, and may want something more sacred, casual, or gritty. There are many valid approaches so long as we keep the focus in the right place. We believe in carefully defining your unique worship voice and adopting a style, sound, and theology based on the people you are called to serve.
Every musician also brings their unique style and approach. It's a combination of experience, musical influences, preferences, and gear. Hopefully, the musicians in a local church will be a part of defining the church's unique worship voice, and the values and context of the church will shape the musicians as well. This is likely to happen whether on purpose or just by making music together, but what if you could define what that voice is, and start to refine it together, and on purpose?
About the founders

Jeremy Ross
Jeremy graduated from Multnomah Bible College (now Jepson University) in Portland, OR with a degree in Bible & Theology and a minor in Music Ministry. He's served in traditional churches and church plants and has lived out the challenges of being a worship pastor and musician.
After 15 years as a full-time worship pastor, Jeremy's role became part-time, and he had a decision to make. Did the calling change, or just the source of the paycheck? Fifteen years later, he's still serving in churches as a lay leader and owns Volume11, a marketing and website design agency. The calling hasn't changed, and Sunday Musician is a fresh expression of that passion for seeing worship flourish in the local church.
Because of his diverse background, Jeremy brings a unique perspective to Sunday Musician and desires to blend technology, theology, unity (inside and outside church doors), and excellence.

Jeramy Burchett
Jeramy has been at the heart of the modern worship movement for over 25 years.
After moving from Nashville, Tennessee, back to his home state of Oregon in 1998, he was quickly drafted to play drums on the worship team of international evangelist Luis Palau. During his time with Luis, Jeramy became a sought-after drummer for churches throughout the Portland metropolitan area.
In 2003, he founded Global Music Evangelism, a nonprofit organization that brought together worship musicians to share the gospel through music worldwide.
Jeramy has taught at worship conferences, produced worship music, and led numerous worship-based groups.
He currently serves as the Music Director at Southlake Foursquare.
